Tariq Wajid’s professional career is the unique blend of promising employment at assorted echelons of sales and marketing leads, management and leadership roles, instated at CEO positions, in Pakistan and abroad. TW earned all of his exceptional accomplishments and unmatched repute with integrity, passion for excellence and hard work, backed by Master’s from IBA and Boston University.
Started his Pharmaceutical career from Pfizer, Pakistan where he worked for 10 years. During his tenure in Pfizer he worked as District Sales Manager, Product Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Marketing Manager. As marketing manager some of the key initiatives were targeting and segmentation, field force sizing and new launches like Norvasc. Worked with world renowned pharmaceutical consultants ZS associates.
At the age of 38, he was appointed sales and marketing director Boots pharmaceuticals in Pakistan. During his two years tenure, major marketing and sales initiatives were employed, yielding high growth of flagship brands like Brufen, Entamizole, Streptsils and Dijex.
In 1994 was handpicked by an expatriate country head of Upjohn as Director Marketing and sales, which was going through a major turbulence at that time. In this position TW was able to build best in class marketing and sales team, and very successfully build the product portfolio by relaunching and launching new products. Recognizing the success by the Upjohn global leadership TW was elevated to CEO’s position.
Upjohn continued on a high growth trajectory under his leadership and many game changing initiatives were implemented. TW and his team members’ efforts were again recognized and the entire management team was awarded expatriate assignments. TW was moved to Hong Kong as market company president and also to initiate strategic plan for generics in Asia.
In 2003, he moved back to Pakistan as CEO and managing director of Aventis which later became Sanofi Pakistan. In his twelve years leadership Sanofi experienced many success stories such as launch of Lantus, Approvel, Plavix, introduction of vaccine division and implementation of best management practices based on which Sanofi Pakistan was awarded Silver Medal amongst 60 intercontinental countries which included countries like India, Brazil, Russia and Mexico to name a few. TWs success to develop French business in Pakistan was also recognized by French Government and he was decorated with highest civilian award ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merite’, by the then President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy.
Before founding Pharmaties he also successfully headed Martin Dow Pakistan for more than two years during which the company was put on high growth trajectory, strategic directives and international acquisitions, all substantially augmented company ranking, portfolio and operations.

After his MBA, Raza worked for two renowned multinational companies GSK and Sanofi Pakistan. In his sixteen years’ experience he has worked on a number of local & regional strategic projects for both GSK and Sanofi which were critical for the companies’ success.
As a recognition of the vigorousness of these strategic initiatives and their execution in the country he was awarded 1st Prize at Sanofi’s Trans-regional Commercial Excellence Forum, where 15 countries were participating. His area of expertise is Portfolio Planning and Execution, Organizational Restructuring and Change Implementation, Synergy Diagnosis for Mergers and Acquisitions, Resource Allocation, Data Strategy Management, Business Analytics, Performance Management, Contriving and Managing Strategic Projects cross functionally. His passion is devising and implementing commercial excellence and SFE tools and processes to provide competitive edge. Mr. Raza’s last assignment with Sanofi was a senior management position of ‘Head of Business Operations’.
